About Us

Partners for the Future: Dickinson County Land , Air, and Water is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that strives to partner with all residents of Dickinson County, Iowa and to work to positively protect the quality of like in Dickinson County, Iowa and the state of Iowa, by educating the public, and instituting and supporting litigation, for the excellent stewardship of the land, air and water resources.  We are organized as exempt organizations under section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.

We were chartered under the laws of iow and recorded with the Secretary of State in October of 2014.  The genesis of our organization centered around a neighborhood and community resistance to a siting of a hog CAFO near the Dickinson County Horseshoe Bend Park southwest of Milford, IA.  We strongly support farming and any practices that enhance the quality of life of Dickinson County residents.  These Practices have to be responsible to positively protect our rare system of lakes (Iowa Great Lakes) and rivers along with their watersheds, our parks and other public and private lands which provide many recreational opportunities and generate hundreds of millions of eco-tourism dollars annually. WE also believe these protections must extend to our land and air, as well as to above and below ground sources of our drinking water, the true Liquid Gold, which is a priceless commodity.  We also believe that everyone has the right of “use and enjoyment” of their property, and no one has the right, by their unrestricted activities, to interfere with a neighbor’s right to his or her own property.
